Permanent

Teachers serving in a permanent or temporary

(1 year or more) capacity.

Monthly subscription at the rate of 0.55% deducted directly from salary by the Department of Education. Maximum payment per month is £15.29 (x12).

Substitute

Teachers serving in a substitute (daily basis)/part-time capacity.

Monthly subscription, based on the actual number of days worked per month, at the rate of 0.55%, deducted directly from salary by the Department of Education.  Maximum payment per month is £18.35. (x10 - no payments July or August).

Substitute members who are in receipt of pension shall have the right to attend, speak and vote at branch meetings but not the right to contest branch, district or national elections or to act as delegates of the branch.

Newly Qualified Teachers

Newly qualified teachers who have graduated within the last 12 months.

FREE membership until the end of the following August post-graduation then as above for Permanent / Substitute as applicable.

External Educational Agencies

Teachers working in CCEA, CCMS, ELBs, RTU etc.

Full/part-time membership paid as appropriate by agency directly to INTO.

Career Break

For teachers on Career Break to retain membership of the INTO and ensure entitlement to the same services and benefits as ordinary members.

£30 per annum by cheque to cover period from September 1st to August 31st.

(Payable to Irish National Teachers’ Organisation).

Unpaid Maternity Leave

For teachers on unpaid maternity leave to retain membership of the INTO and ensure entitlement to the same services and benefits as ordinary members.

£10 per month, with a maximum of £30 for 3-12 months.

Associate

Persons who were qualified teachers and members of the Organisation but who cease to be practising teachers may become associate members. Such members shall be centrally registered on payment of an annual subscription to be determined by the CEC(£40 for 12 months) and shall be entitled to receive the Organisation's journals. They shall have no other rights.

£40 per annum by cheque.

Honorary

Teachers who have been members of a branch at the time of their retirement on pension may be nominated as honorary members after retirement with the right to attend and speak at meetings of the branch but they shall not have the right to vote or to act as officers or delegates of the branch. They shall receive the Organisation's journals. They shall have no other rights.

The CEC shall determine what subscription shall be forwarded to central funds on their behalf
(£40 for 12 months).

Student

Open to anyone who is training to be a teacher.

Student membership is completely FREE.
