Adoptive Leave

26-week paid adoptive leave is now available to both genders. Payment for teachers who have completed 26 weeks continuous service will be:

  • 4 weeks at full pay
  • 2 weeks @ 9/10 pay
  • 6 weeks @ 1/2 pay

The remaining 14 weeks will be paid at the higher rate of Statutory Maternity Leave.

Teachers are also entitled to time off with pay to attend meetings related to adoptions with social services etc.
