Deirbhile Nic Craith, Senior Official
Deirbhile taught in St. Attracta's JNS, Dublin 16, prior to being appointed director of Gaelscoileanna in 1988. She was appointed as an Official in the Education Section in 1992. Deirbhile is now Education Officer and secretary to the INTO Education Committee. She also previously served as Equality Officer and as secretary to the INTO Equality Committee.

Mary Lally, Senior Official

Mary served as a teacher in Scoil Mhuire, Howth, Dublin, from 1977 to her appointment as Senior Official in INTO Head Office in 2002. Mary held  a variety of officerships at INTO Branch and District level, and was CEC Representative for District XV (North Dublin) prior to her appointment to Head Office.

Mary  forms part of the Conditions of Employment Team in Head Office. She also deals with cases related to her brief and is involved in a variety of discussions with the DES on Conditions of Employment.

Mary’s qualifications are :  B. Ed (UCD 1977), Higher Diploma in Business and Human Resource Management (NCIRL 2007), Masters in Business Studies (DCU 2009).

Peter Mullan, Senior Official
Peter taught in Ballyboden, Dublin 16,and in 1997 was appointed principal in Maynooth. He was appointed to INTO Head Office in 2002. Peter previously served as District VIII representative on the INTO Education Committee. He now acts as Press Officer in the General Secretary's Department of INTO Head Office. He is also assigned part time to the Communications, Principals and Social Inclusion Department, with particular responsibility for the development of policy related to school leadership. He also spends part of his time with the Legal and Industrial Relations Department dealing with inspection and related matters.

Deirdre O'Connor, Senior Official

Deirdre currently works in the Legal, Industrial Relations and Equality Section of INTO Head Office, primarily on case work, advising and representing members in employment matters. She was recently appointed Equality Officer. Since her appointment to INTO Head Office in 2002, she has also worked in various areas, including Professional Development, Special Education and the co-ordination of INTO Trade Union Training.

Deirdre taught in St. Mary’s BNS Monaghan for 13 years, and spent three years working with the Primary Curriculum Support Programme from 1999 to 2002. She has been involved in INTO since the beginning of her career, including acting as staff representative, Branch Secretary and Staff Representative Tutor.

Alison Gilliland, Senior Official

Alison Gilliland is Senior Official in the Professional Development Unit with responsibility for INTO Learning. In her role Alison supports and develops all aspects of professional development and learning for members and manages the INTO Learning Centre.

Alison was previously appointed as Acting Senior Official for social inclusion in the Communications, Principals and Social Inclusion Section of the INTO in September 2006 and previously worked as an Official in the Professional Development Unit of INTO from December 2004.

A native of Co Monaghan, Alison previously taught in Granada, Spain, Our Lady Immaculate SNS, Darndale and Swords Educate Together NS. During her time teaching Alison was an active member of Dublin North West Branch.

She has held the role of Branch Organiser and Staff Representative Tutor for District 15. She has also been a District 15 co-ordinator of INTO summer courses.

Gráinne Cleary, Accountant

Gráinne Cleary joined the INTO in 1996 in the position of Senior Accounts Assistant. She successfully completed her ACCA examinations in 1998 and was appointed to the role of INTO Accountant. She works closely with Noel Ward, Deputy General Secretary and General Treasurer, in the Membership and Finance Department.

She is involved with the Examiner of Accounts, Accounts Committee and Benefit Funds Committee, and deals with Branch and District Officers on financial matters.
