Lunchtime Supervision

In order to qualify for pensionability, newly qualified teachers in their first appointment must opt in to supervision duties within twelve months of first appointment.

Therefore it is very important that all teachers who took up their first appointment at the beginning of the current school year and who wish to undertake supervision duties, indicate their intention to opt into supervision duties at the end of the school year.

The INTO strongly advises all teachers who wish to undertake supervision duties to opt into the pensionability element of the scheme.
