Circular 07/2012
The Department of Education and Skills published Circular 0007/2012 Staffing arrangements in Primary Schools for the 2012/2013 school year. This contains information regarding GAM, EAL, Resource posts, clustering arrangements for GAM/EAL hours & alleviation measures for DEIS Band 1 and Band 2 schools.
Please note that the deadline for schools submitting their new clustering arrangement of GAM/EAL hours for 2012/2012 is the 16th March 2012. Form GAcluster2012 (Appendix D) of the circular should be completed and submitted by the base school.
The GAM/EAL allocation for all schools is listed in Appendix C.

NCSE News - Nov 'll

The NCSE has announced that a number of SNA posts have been allocated to schools for emergency (e.g. acquired brain injury) cases and for special classes (i.e. in the case of increased pupil numbers). The NCSE is currently processing SNA applications submitted by schools and it is intended that the issue of these SNA decisions will commence before the end of November. These posts are being allocated in the context of the 475 posts that were retained for allocation during the 2011/12 school year.
Inclusive Education Framework
The NCSE has just published a new resource Inclusive Education Framework - it is a guide for schools on the inclusion of pupils with special educational needs. Further details can be found on the NCSE website.
Hard copies of the Inclusive Education Framework will be issued to schools through the SENO network and can be accessed on the NCSE website.
