INTO Meets Supply Panel Teachers

INTO representatives met with supply panel teachers and principals of their base schools at a meeting in Athlone yesterday.

The meeting discussed the threat announced as part of Budget 2010 to end supply panels from September 2010. Topics discussed during the course of the meeting included the importance of supply panels, current operating procedures and potential future developments. The meeting also discussed the INTO strategy to try and retain the supply panels.

The INTO will be meeting representatives of the DES on this issue early next week.
