INTO Executive to Ballot Members on Draft Agreement

The Central Executive Committee of the INTO, after detailed
consideration of the terms of the draft Public Service agreement, has
decided to put the terms of the draft agreement to its 30,000 members in
a postal ballot to be conducted after Easter.

In the course of his budget speech last December, the Minister for
Finance, Brian Lenihan TD, announced that public servants, including
teachers who retired in the course of 2010, would have their pension
and lumpsums calculated on the 2009 salary scales (i.e. salary levels
prior to the pay cut).
