Fourth edition of Irish Teachers’ Journal launched
The fourth volume of the Irish Teachers’ Journal has been published by the INTO and was launched at Congress 2017. The centenary of 1916 last year provided an opportunity to consider the state of education 100 years on. This fourth edition features articles from contributors, Oilibhéar Ó Braonáin, Máire Thornton, Cathal de Paor, Beth Cooney, Gareth Burns and Ann Caulfield which refer to 1916, focus on aspects of the teacher education continuum, and consider supports for teachers. The guest article describes the PAX good behaviour game (GBG), which is an American classroom-based intervention programme based on social learning principles. The authors, Margaret O’Donnell, Mark Morgan, Dennis D. Embry, Noel Kelly and Conor Owens, were involved with the programme.
A copy of the Journal will be circulated to all schools in the coming weeks and it is available online at http://www.into.ie/ROI/Publications/IrishTeachersJournal/
