100 Schools Gain a Teacher
The DES has published a list of schools that are being allocated additional teaching posts in accordance with commitments in the renewed Programme for Government. Letters are issuing from DES to schools which are part of this programme.
The INTO has been pressing for some time that schools that lost posts by a narrow margin, due to the increase in the staffing schedule last year, should be entitled to regain or appoint these posts as part of the implementation of the Programme for Government.
The INTO welcomes this announcement from the Minister for Education and Science, Batt O'Keeffe TD.
