Probation of Newly Qualified Teachers
The DES is considering a number of changes to the probation arrangements for newly qualified teachers and a consultation process is currently underway.
One of the proposed changes will be a new OP1 form which will be available shortly from the DES website under the Inspectorate tab.
The application dates that applied last year are not relevant this year as a new timeframe for applications will form part of the proposed changes to probation arrangements. The INTO advises that all newly qualified teachers wishing to apply for probation should complete and submit Form OP1 electronically when appointed to a post.
