INTO Meets DES on Croke Park Agreement

INTO representatives yesterday met with DES officials in relation to the implementation of the Croke Park Agreement. The talks are continuing on a sectorial basis and the INTO will be engaging with primary school management and the DES to look at how the commitments on the additional hour per week and the review of the teacher contract will be implemented. It is now expected that talks will intensify in the coming weeks with a view to having an agreed circular issued later this term which will outline details on the implementation.

In return for implementing the Croke Park Deal public service workers have been guaranteed a pay provision for 2014 and that there will be no redundancies across the public service.
