The NCSE has announced the release of a new resource, Inclusive Education Framework – it is a guide for schools on the inclusion of pupils with special educational needs.

INTO President, Noreen Flynn, at the beginning of the new school year, announced the organisation of these information meetings, and said that the key issues facing the Organisation in the coming year would be to safeguard investment in education and to maximise to the greatest extent possible employment opportunities for graduates.
Update on Recoupment of Pension Levy Underpayments

The DES included a notice in the pay slip which issued on 10th November 2011 which stated: "As advised on Form PR60 issued in February 2011, underpayments of PRD for 2009 and 2010 will be recouped in 2011. This will commence in payroll issuing on 24th November 2011. Further information is available at www.education.ie/education personnel/"

Teaching Council Elections

A new Teaching Council will be elected in early 2012 to take office from March 2012. The Council has now initiated an election process for registered teachers to elect members in accordance with the provision of the Teaching Council Act 2001.
