DONEGAL TOWN
SATURDAY 29TH NOVEMBER 2008
AT 2PM
A public demonstration against the education cuts outlined in the budget will be held in Donegal Town, Co Donegal on Saturday 29th November 2008.
Teachers, parents, principals, members of management boards and members of the general public will attend.
The rally will assemble at the District Hospital in Donegal Town, which is on the Letterkenny approach road, at 1.45pm. The protest will move off at 2pm to the Diamond in Donegal Town.
Speeches will take place in the Square at 2.30pm.
This is the fourth in a series of regional protests against the cuts organised by the Irish National Teachers’ Organisation.
Speakers will include:
- John Carr, General Secretary, Irish National Teachers’ Organisation.
- Declan Kelleher, President, Irish National Teachers’ Organisation.
- Representatives of ASTI, TUI, parents, principals and school management.
- Marian Harkin MEP will also address the meeting along with speakers from political parties.
