INTO Executive recommends rejection of proposed Public Service Pay Agreement
The INTO Executive has recommend rejection of the proposed public service pay agreement to members. The decision followed a meeting of the executive which considered the detail of the proposed agreement.
The decision of the Executive is based on the failure of the proposed agreement to progress the issue of pay equality.
General secretary Sheila Nunan said the proposed agreement failed to signal an end to pay inequality and offered little prospect of delivery on principals’ benchmarking within the lifetime of the agreement.
As a result the INTO Executive will recommend that members reject the proposed agreement in a ballot of members.
Ballot papers and an Eolas have issued to schools.
