INTO has been contacted by Cornmarket Brokers – whose INTO-endorsed products include the teachers’ car insurance scheme – following the reported difficulties concerning the insurance company called Qudos. This company is not involved with the Cornmarket scheme.
Cornmarket is available to take calls (01 4084000) from any members who may have a motor policy with Qudos and to offer advice to those affected.
Qudos, which filed for liquidation in Denmark on 27 November, in Ireland mainly sold motor insurance policies via agents and brokers. According to media reports, the company has said that its insurance policies are still valid, but it will not pay out on any claims ‘at the moment’.
