Registration now open for INTO Summer Programme

Registration for the INTO Summer Programme is now open. Participants can choose from a range of 11 online synchronous and asynchronous courses, as well as a face-to-face course and the annual summer school in Dún Chaoin, Co Kerry.

All courses are EPV-day approved.

Online courses cost €35 and run from 3 – 19 July. The new face-to-face course, Optimising Your Middle Leadership Role in School, costs €50, while the Summer School costs €70.

Literacy Through the Arts
This online course explores how a school’s discrete literacy programme can be supported and extended using the arts: drama, visual and musical arts, including how to bring a story to the stage. Register here.

Creating an LGBT+ Inclusive School
This online course seeks to support teachers and school leaders to create an LGBT+ inclusive school and classroom, including good practice exemplars, policy supports and useful resources. Register here.

Global Citizenship Schools
This course explores the concepts of justice, sustainability, and equality at a local, national, and global level through the lens of human rights and responsibilities and supports the objectives of INTO Global Citizenship Schools. Register here.

Understanding and Supporting Pupils Suffering Adverse Childhood Trauma
This online course seeks to enable teachers to understand and support pupils with adverse childhood experiences (AVEs). Register here.

Embracing Racial, Ethnic and Cultural Diversity in Our Schools
This online course seeks to support teachers’ understanding of race, ethnicity, and culture with a view to creating a school environment and teaching opportunities to support racial, ethnic and cultural diversity in our schools and prevent racism and race/ethnicity/culture-based harassment and bullying. Register here.

Moving From Mainstream to SET
This online course will enable participants gain an understanding of the role of the special education teacher (SET) particularly for those teachers moving to this role for the first time. Testing, timetables and support approaches will be explored. Register here.

Maths Problem-Solving: A Process, Not a Product!
This online course focuses on a process led approach to teaching maths problem-solving across all class levels and includes an exploration of mathematical language, mathematical thinking and a series of problem-solving strategies. Register here.

Language Matters: Effective Practices for EAL Support in Primary Schools – New Course!
This online course outlines effective planning, teaching, assessment, and whole-school practices for EAL support in primary schools. It is designed for both mainstream and support teachers of learners of EAL and offers important insights, skills and resources for working with these pupils within and beyond the mainstream classroom. Register here.

Digital Technologies in SESE and STEM
This online course explores the use of digital technologies to enhance teaching and learning in areas of SESE and STEM. It includes hands-on experience of a variety of online resources. This course is NOT suitable for beginners. Register here.

Learning Through Play
This online course explores the concept of learning through play particularly the pedagogy of play, the role of the teacher, the benefits and the challenges of play and different types of play. Register here.

Synchronous course

Understanding and Preventing Racism Through a Global Justice Lens (synchronous) – FREE New Course!
This course will offer both synchronous and asynchronous learning opportunities for teachers to support their developing understanding of identity-based and structural racism and discrimination related to race, language, culture and/or ethnicity.

Optimising Your Middle Leadership Role in School – New Course! – €50
This face-to-face course, to be held in the Teachers’ Club, Parnell Square, Dublin 1, from 10-14 July, will be of particular interest and support to new and aspiring assistant principals as well as giving newly appointed principals and deputy principals greater confidence in how to optimise middle leadership to benefit ongoing school improvement. Register here.
