Solidarity Fund Applications 2017
Large volume of applications for support
The INTO Solidarity Fund has an income of approximately €132,000 per annum from members’ subscriptions and is used to support teacher volunteers and educational projects in developing countries.
Over recent months there has been a large volume of applications for support, mainly from members who are travelling abroad this summer to support such projects. As a result, the Fund’s anticipated income for the period up to July 2017 has already been committed. The resulting pressure on the fund is, in the round, a good news story and a tribute to INTO members’ commitment to education in the Global South.
As a result of this temporary pressure on the Fund, applicants may be allocated an amount somewhat below that received following previous applications and we may have to defer some payments to organisations that have applied. INTO is strongly committed to this fund and will prioritise applications from members in making allocations.
