This 90-minute webinar seeks to give teachers an overview of how loss, trauma and adverse childhood experiences impact attachment strategies, regulation and behaviours in primary aged pupils. This will offer practical suggestions as to how schools might identify these signs and adopt trauma informed practices to support these pupils and the wider school population.
The webinar will be presented by Aoife Bairead of Minds in Mind. Aoife is a qualified social worker and since this has completed extensive training in the area of attachment and trauma in Ireland, the UK and Italy. Aoife has over 19 years’ experience of working with children and their families in Ireland, the US and Vietnam including those experiencing mental health difficulties, and those who have experienced separation, loss and trauma. Aoife specialises in attachment focused work and uses evidence informed interventions to empower families to find ways to improve their children’s and their family’s day to day lives. Aoife also offers training and supervision to a wide variety of professionals who work with children and families with grief, separation and trauma experiences.
The webinar will take place on Wednesday, 9 June from 4.15 – 5.45pm via Zoom.
