INTO Learning webinar – Reproductive Health, Infertility and Pregnancy Loss

The second webinar being offered in the INTO Health Series will be on Reproductive Health, Infertility and Pregnancy Loss. This will take place on Thursday, 20 January 2022 at 4pm. This 90-minute webinar will be presented by Dr Vicky O’Dwyer, Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist in the Rotunda Hospital and there will be an opportunity for participants to pose questions via our chat facility at the end of the presentation.

INTO Subbing Support Webinar Series

INTO are offering a series of professional support webinars to support student teachers and teachers who are involved in advanced school placement and substitute work in schools during the current context. The webinars will provide practical advice and support on a range of topics including:

Planning
Covid Protocols
Professional Conduct
Pay and Practicalities

INTO/IHREC Anti Racism Project – Online workshops

The INTO was recently named as the recipient of the Human Rights and Equality Grant awarded by the Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission (IHREC). The Anti-Racism project aims to empower and enable teachers in primary schools to proactively create more inclusive, racially embracing and anti-racist schools. The grant will support a collaboration between the INTO and a number of Education Centres including Donegal Education Centre, Dublin West Education Centre, Galway Education Centre and Kilkenny Education Centre and will provide a series of three online professional development workshops for teachers on tackling racism in primary schools.

This series of online workshops will support teachers in understanding racism and identity-based discrimination related to one’s race, language, culture and/or ethnicity. Teachers will learn the importance of becoming anti-racist practitioners and how schools can promote anti-racism within a social justice lens

INTO/IHREC  – Job-readiness workshops and mock interview opportunity

Strand 2 of the IHREC project aims to promote diversity in teaching and support student teachers and teachers from under-represented groups to secure a teaching post. The project provides for a series of two, job-readiness workshops, and the opportunity to take part in mock interviews with experienced Principals who will share valuable feedback. The workshops will cover a range of topics including:

  • Teacher recruitment
    • Teacher Application Form
    • CV
    • Interview Preparation
    • Subbing

Both the workshops and mock interviews are free to attend but registration is required. Places are limited but teachers who have participated in the following programmes are strongly encouraged to participate:

PATH Programme, Mary Immaculate College

Tobar, Marino Institute of Education

#Teacher2Teacher Webinar Series 

Following on from a very successful Autumn series, INTO will continue collaborating with teachers and teacher educators to offer a number of webinars to support teacher professional development, promote peer led learning and share best practice. The webinars will be one hour in duration including a Q&A session. The presenters are all well known in the online teaching community through their social media accounts and online blogs. The INTO staff rep is an invaluable role within INTO structures. We are here to help you with training and information briefings. To be notified of such supports please ensure you are identified as a rep on our members’ portal. Staff Representatives Support Course -This online course is aimed at supporting INTO staff representatives in carrying out their role, understanding the INTO structures and gaining an overview of teacher employment terms and conditions and managing workplace relationships. The course comprises of the following four modules:

  • Module 1: Staff Representative Role and Responsibilities
  • Module 2: INTO Structures and Communications
  • Module 3: Teacher Employment Terms and Conditions
  • Module 4: Managing Workplace Relationships
