This year, all primary schools can offer a summer programme for pupils with complex needs and those at risk of educational disadvantage.
A school-based programme provides a more holistic experience for pupils and helps keep the connection with school and peers.
There are 3 in-school programmes at primary level for 2022:
- an inclusion programme for pupils in mainstream classes with complex needs and those at risk of educational disadvantage
- a summer programme for pupils in primary special classes and special schools
- an expanded literacy and numeracy summer camp/campa samhraidh for pupils in DEIS schools. This also available to schools getting new DEIS status in September 2022.
