Córfhéile na Scoileanna

INTO president, John Boyle, will open this year’s Córfhéile na Scoileanna, Áth Cliath tomorrow (Tuesday), 6 March 2018 at 7.30pm.

Córfhéile na Scoileanna, Áth Cliath, is the biggest non-competitive music festival for school children in Ireland and will be held from 5 – 9 March (Tuesday to Friday) in the National Basketball Arena, Tallaght. The festival will commence each evening at 7.30pm. There will be matinee  performances each day from 10.30am to 12 noon.

One of the principal aims of Córfhéile is to foster and develop a love of music, particularly Irish music, in children.

Every year between four and five thousand children take part – a mixture of choirs, bands and ceol dramaí. The emphasis is on children enjoying the performances of other children in a stress-free environment.

The Cork Córfhéile will take place in Cork City Hall 13 – 22 March.
