Survey – school leaders asked what support they need right now!

Doctors Jolanta Burke and Majella Dempsey of Maynooth University have been working with the Department of Education and Skills, primary sector management bodies, PDST, IPPN and the INTO to design a survey of primary school leaders. The aim of the survey is to ascertain best practice in relation to the various measures schools have been putting in place to support children’s learning in the home, taking into account the varying school contexts, and to find out what supports schools have had and those they will need in order to manage during this crisis. We are aware that schools are making huge efforts to support their pupils and this survey attempts to capture that.

We are asking principals/ deputy principals to complete this survey by 12pm tomorrow, Thursday 26th March. Your feedback is a key input to the group’s deliberations and the Department’s decision-making. Please note that the survey is anonymous and by filling it out you are giving us permission to use your data. Following your participation, a report will be generated and shared with you all in the coming weeks. The data may also be used in research papers. All data will be anonymous and you or your school will not be identifiable in any way.
