What does an INTO Health & Safety Representative do?

INTO run the following courses for our Health & Safety Representatives:

Induction Course for New H&S Reps:

This is a one-day induction course for all newly appointed INTO H&S Representatives and will provide initial training on the role and responsibilities of the rep as well as an update on current issues.

H&S Reps Training:

This is a two-day course and covers the role and responsibilities of the H&S rep along with an understanding of health and safety legislation and how this can be interpreted in the workplace.

All places are allocated on a first come-first served basis so early application is recommended.

ICTU Online H&S training for INTO H&S Reps during COVID-19

4 online sessions on 12, 13, 21, 22nd October – 3.30 to 6.00pm with breaks

The course will cover:

  • Rights, roles and functions of a H&S representative.
  • COVID-19 and the workplace.
  • Relevant protection legislation.
  • Understanding and carrying out risk assessments.

The course will be accredited by OCN at level 2 and learners must complete a workbook and some independent learning.
