INTO ANNUAL CONGRESS

The Annual Congress of the Irish National Teachers’ Organisation continues today (Tuesday 3 April 2018) in Killarney.

The Minister for Education and Skills Richard Bruton TD will address the 800 delegates this morning as will the union’s general secretary Sheila Nunan.

The union which is marking its 150 year anniversary, represents 34,000 primary teachers in the south and 7,000 teachers in the north.

Pay equality, school funding, promotion, school leadership, the curriculum, tackling disadvantage and teacher supply will dominate the agenda.
