As outlined in September’s issue of InTouch, notice in writing of intention to be a candidate for the vacant position on the Equality Committee had to be submitted by 5 pm on Monday 3 rd December 2018.
The following candidates gave notice and were successful in being elected to the following committees:
Equality Committee – District 2 By-election – 2019-2021
Elayna Duffy – Newry, 22% Not Elected
Grainne McAleer – Strabane, 78% Elected
The Equality Committee (Eq.C) consists of the president and the vice-president and one representative elected by each of the 16 districts. The function of the Eq.C is to advise the CEC on equality matters. The Eq.C submits an annual report to Report and prepares reports for consideration by the Organisation from time to time.
