Today, the INTO, ASTI and the TUI met with the oversight group of the Public Sector Stability Agreement. The group comprises representatives of the public service committee of the Irish Congress of Trade Unions and the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform.
The INTO made it clear at the meeting that the trade union remains open to constructive dialogue with government on a solution for the earlier cohorts of members from 2011 to 2014 who did not receive an adequate remedy in the proposal made last year and who have suffered the most. This cohort in particular, along with the leadership of the union, initiated the campaign for equal pay.
Following today’s meeting, it was agreed that there would be further engagement with the oversight body in the coming weeks.
