Industrial action by grant funded school secretaries

Following a ballot school secretaries, funded through the Ancillary Services Grant system, are to take industrial action to address pay and pension related issues. The INTO has been informed that this protest will take place between 8.30am and 9.15am on Friday, 20 September.

INTO fully supports the FORSA campaign to stand up for our school secretaries and we are proud to stand shoulder to shoulder with our colleagues. It’s the right of every union to engage in industrial action and the INTO supports our colleagues who play a vital role in so many of our schools.

As this is not a picket, FORSA and INTO do not expect the work of other employees to be disrupted.

The first phase of the work-to-rule, which will also commence on the 20 September, will consist of a boycott of the Esinet system, with the exception of OLCS, with substitute payment claims being processed as normal.

How can you show your support?
Where possible try to spend a few minutes to show solidarity with school secretaries who are protesting, without disrupting your normal work.
