The INTO Equality Committee advises the CEC and the union on equality matters. The committee considers the nine grounds comprehended by equality legislation which are gender, civil status, family status, sexual orientation, religion, age, disability, race and membership of the Traveller community.
The Equality Committee is coming to the end of its current 3 year term. If you are interested in representing your District on the Equality Committee, you need to write to the General Secretary (jboyle@into.ie and copy rwarren@into.ie) before 5pm on Monday, 2 December stating your intention.
If there is more than one member interested in representing his/her/their District on the Committee, an election will be held whereby all Branches within the District will vote to decide on who will represent them.
