29th April 2020
Holiday pay for substitute teachers will issue tomorrow, 30 April. INTO requested that holiday pay be issued slightly later this year, after receiving a number of requests from members seeking this arrangement last year. This is to mitigate the situation that previously occurred where teachers had a gap of four weeks without pay, due to the Easter closure.
Eleven percent of a sub’s daily rate is deducted per day worked and banked as holiday pay. Holiday pay issues at three intervals during the year, generally before Christmas, around Easter, and at the beginning of the summer.
