1st May 2020
Speaking on the occasion of May Day 2020, INTO General Secretary John Boyle said:
In commemorating May Day this year, the Irish National Teachers’ Organisation wants to single out our members, the teachers of Ireland, who have stepped up to the challenge of the current pandemic and facilitated the continuity of learning. History will remember their contribution, as will their pupils.
Today it is appropriate that we acknowledge and honour frontline medical and retail workers who continue to give so much to their country at this time of national peril. We also acknowledge workers who have lost their jobs and who continue to fight for their rights in the workplace.”
