Teachers who are currently engaging with Marino Institute of Education in order to complete the SCG/OCG to fulfil the Irish Language Requirement condition on their registration may complete the Gaeltacht Placement in an online learning environment this year (2020/21) on an exceptional basis.
Members should also note that Circular 0078/2020 Panel access for fixed-term/temporary and part-time teachers to the Supplementary Redeployment Panel for the 2021/22 school year states that eligibility for the 2021/22 Supplementary Panel is confined to those teachers that have met in full all outstanding conditions/satisfied all shortfalls in respect of registration with the Teaching Council at 26 February 2021.
Teachers who have the Gaeltacht Placement outstanding as part of the Irish Language Requirement condition should immediately engage with the Marino Institute of Education and identify a suitable course to fulfil this condition/shortfall prior to the 26 February 2021.
