The Irish National Teachers’ Organisation (INTO) wishes to advise members that the Department of Education has confirmed that the two outstanding pay increases and arrears due will be paid on Thursday, 24 November.
The increases include the following:
- A 3% increase, backdated to 2 February 2022.
- A 1% increase or €500, whichever is greater, backdated to 1 October 2022.
The arrears and increases will be paid on 24 November to members in full-time, part-time or substitute positions.
The percentage increases will be applied to all scale points, all allowances and to hourly and daily rates of pay. The impact of these increases on salaries is outlined in Circular 0064/2022.
Negotiations in respect of a longer-term agreement, from January 2024, are expected to commence by the middle of next year.
