Missing Journals - Urgent Request

Early copies of “The Northern Teacher” needed for INTO history project

The INTO in the North published a journal called “The Northern Teacher” from 1953 into the 1980s. Unfortunately, no copies from 1953 to 1960 survive in the INTO Offices or public library/archive records. It may be that a member or members can assist in the search for copies.

Dr Niamh Puirseil is currently writing a history of INTO over our first 150 years (1868-2018), to be published later this year. It would be enormously helpful if any member, former member or relative of an INTO member has any or all of the 1953 – 1960 copies of “The Northern Teacher” which we could copy.

If you believe that you can assist, please contact INTO Head Office by emailing or telephoning (+ 353 1) 8047745.

This is an urgent request as research for the Northern section of INTO’s history is being concluded.  Receipt of such material will be acknowledged, and journals received will be returned safely.
