With the appointment of Minister McHugh as Minister for Education and Skills, the DES is required to develop a new Strategy Statement for the Minister. As part of the consultation process in this regard, INTO made this submission before Christmas.
The INTO submission sets out a range of background factors and INTO priorities for primary education in the period ahead. Among the areas addressed are curriculum, special needs education, teacher supply including staffing needs, school leadership, inspection, CPD supports, DES services, school patronage and admissions, and buildings.
