The General Secretaries of the British and Irish Education Unions met at the offices of the Ulster Teachers’ Union in Belfast today. The BIGTU group discussed the work of International agencies including Education International, the European Trade Union Committee For Education, the EI/OECD Forum and the Trade Union Advisory Committee. The group also discussed the programme for the 2020 International Summit on the Teaching Profession. General Secretaries from Scotland, England, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland were updated on issues in the different jurisdictions.
