Minister reaffirms intention to honour Public Service Stability Agreement

The officers of the Public Services Committee of the Irish Congress of Trade Unions (ICTU), including Vice-Chairperson John Boyle, met Minister Michael McGrath and officials from the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform today. 
“The Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform and officials met with the officers of the Public Services Committee of ICTU this morning.
There was a wide ranging and constructive discussion and the Minister reaffirmed the intention to honour the terms of the Public Service Stability Agreement, including the final payment of 2% due on 1 October.
Both sides agreed that there should engagement in early September to explore the potential for a successor public service agreement.”
INTO expects that the Department of Education will issue a circular detailing the revised pay scales and allowances, effective from 1 October 2020, in the near future.
