Rally and Protest to Demand a Return to Devolution and Urgent Action on the Cost of Living Crisis

NIC-ICTU are organising a rally and protest at Stormont to take place on Saturday 25 June 2022 (assembling at 12 noon).

An invitation to INTO members from NIC-ICTU:

We are asking all affiliate unions to mobilise members and activists for this crucial and timely rally. Workers and their families are bearing the brunt of the ‘cost of living crisis’ as we emerge from the pandemic, where for so many workers, work simply does not pay.

Many of our unions are engaged in industrial action in order to protect workers living standards with in work poverty on the rise. As part of a series of initiatives the NIC are calling on union members to make their united voices heard loudly on the 25th June 2022.

We are asking Unions and their members to assemble at the main gate on the Upper Newtownards Road entrance of the Stormont estate at 12 noon, we will then march the 1 mile up to Stormont at 12.30pm whereby a rally and speeches of union activists will take place thereafter.

It is vital that politicians and wider society hear loud and clear the call of workers for urgent and serious action to address the ‘cost of living crisis’ now. We need a functioning NI Executive to implement necessary measures and we need the government in Westminster to make the appropriate and necessary funding available to such an Executive.

Let’s ensure that every Unions’ voice and the united voice of the trade union movement in NI is heard on this crucial matter.
