In accordance with Rule 40 of the INTO Rules and Constitution, members seeking to be elected to INTO national committees for 2023/24 must give written notice to the General Secretary no later than 5.00pm on Thursday 1 December 2022.
Rule 40 governs elections to the offices of president, vice-president, district representatives on the Central Executive Committee, Benefit Funds Committee divisions 1 and 2, the Equality Committee, the Principals’ and Deputy Principals’ Committee, the National Appeals Panel divisions 1 and 2, and the Northern Committee. Rule 40 states that a member may not be nominated for the above positions “unless that member has given notice in writing of intention to be a candidate to the general secretary not later than 5pm on the first working day in December proceeding, for publication by the General Secretary prior to the AGMs”.
A full list of members who have indicated their intention to be candidates for national committees will be published to all members in December 2022.
*Current members of national committees who do not intend seeking re-election are requested to give ample notice to the branches in their respective districts. No elections are scheduled to take place in 2023 for the Education Committee as the term of the committee will not end until Congress 2024. The term of office of the Benefit Funds Committee Divisions 3, 4 and 5 and the National Appeals Panel Divisions 3, 4 and 5 will end in 2025.
