Tenth anniversary Irish Teachers’ Journal launched

A special tenth anniversary edition of the Irish Teachers’ Journal was launched by INTO President John Driscoll at the recent Education Conference in Tullamore.

Since 2013, the purpose of the journal has always been to encourage teacher thought and creativity through discussions and reflections on current issues in education. It also aims to provide a platform for teachers on the island of Ireland, both at primary and post-primary level, to have their research findings published and brought to a wider audience.

This year’s bumper edition includes 10 articles on topics as wide-ranging as problem-solving; supports to aid the implementation of the Primary Language Curriculum; climate change education; newcomer children in the Northern Ireland education system; inquiry-based science education; mathematics test anxiety; Isaac Butt and Irish National Education; the evolution of the EPV policy; and special class provision.

All schools will be sent a copy of the Journal before the Christmas break. Be sure to check your staffroom to read your copy.
