June 14 deadline for entering Members’ Draw

The deadline for entering the INTO Members’ Draw in aid of the Children’s Health Foundation is Wednesday, 14 June at 5pm, meaning there is not long left to support its research into sickle cell disease.

At the time of publication, nearly €37,000 of the €60,000 target has been reached.

Tickets cost €10 each, with the option of purchasing three tickets for €20, and ten tickets for €50.

The prize fund totals €20,000, with a grand prize of €10,000 for the lucky winner. The second prize is €3,000, while third and fourth prize winners each receive €1,500. The fifth and sixth prize winners will receive €1,000 each, with €500 each for the remaining four prizes.

Winners will be picked and announced on Thursday, 15 June at the CEC meeting.

All proceeds will be used to fund the final year of a research project into sickle cell disease, a genetic blood disorder that affects millions of people worldwide.

Crumlin Children’s Hospital estimates that approximately 400 children and 100 adults suffer from the condition, which affects red blood cells and can cause extreme pain, stroke and organ damage – and can be fatal.

The INTO is encouraging everyone to participate in this fundraising draw to help make a significant contribution towards research in this area and ultimately, towards improving the lives of those affected by the disease.

The INTO recognises that members are frequently asked to contribute and donate to various causes. However, the union is making a special appeal for support for his worthy cause.
