CEC Recommends Yes Vote in New Ballot

Teacher Allocations and Redeployment of Surplus Permanent/CID Holding Teachers

There are currently a total of 87 surplus permanent/CID holding teachers remaining on panels for redeployment to vacancies in other schools. Please note that the next update of this summary list will be published on the Department website on Tuesday 28 May 2013.
INTO meets LRC for talks

INTO representatives, along with other teacher unions, met overnight with the Labour Relations Commission in relation to the Croke Park Agreement. The decision to enter talks was made at the CEC meeting last Friday.
Teaching Council Proposals on Induction and Probation - INTO Meetings

A resolution passed at annual Congress demanded that “the CEC ensure that no pilot scheme such as Droichead take place, involving members of staff in the probation of teachers until there has been full consultation with members…”. Arising from the Congress resolution, a series of Regional meetings has been organised by INTO Head Office.
INTO Concerned about Special Ed. Policy Advice

The Irish National Teachers’ Organisation today said NCSE policy proposals for changes to special education could dismantle two decades of progress integrating special needs children in mainstream schools.

The executives of the three teacher unions are currently conducting a ballot of members for industrial action, up to and including strike action. Each union is conducting a ballot of its own members. LRC Proposals for Public Service Agreement

On Sunday 12 May 2013 the LRC provided the relevant public service unions, including the teacher unions, with a briefing on the application of the pay cut proposed for those earning between 65k and 100k and the application of the measures regarding incremental progression for this group.

INTO Children’s Medical and Research Foundation Annual Draw – Top Prize Toyota Auris

The tickets for the INTO Children’s Medical and Research Foundation Annual Draw have been posted to the Staff Representatives. Tickets cost €10 each and all proceeds will be used to purchase a portable ultrasound machine for Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin.
