Deadlines for tax claims and supplementary panel

Members are reminded that the application deadline for the 2023/24 Supplementary Panel is this Friday, 16 December 2022.

Postal applications only will be accepted this year, and must be received by Allocations in the Department of Education by 5pm on that day. Late applications will not be accepted. For more information click here.

Members are also reminded that there is a four-year time limit for claiming tax back, for example on health expenses and flat-rate expenses.

In particular, teachers are reminded that they can claim a tax credit for their Teaching Council renewal fee, and for flat rate expenses incurred in the course of your employment.

The deadline for 2018 claims is 31 December, so now is a good time to check that you have claimed all of your entitlements. You can claim back tax that you have overpaid for the last four years, and ensure that you claim all of your entitlements for future years.

You can do this online on the Revenue website, using PAYE Services in myAccount. You can also review your tax record online at any time. If you are not already registered for myAccount, you can register quickly and easily on the Revenue website.
