12th May 2025
Main Redeployment Panels have come into operation today. The DE advises that there are currently 209 surplus permanent or CID-holding teachers on Main Panels for redeployment. Click here to access the Main Panel summary (as of Monday 12 May 2025).
Lists of teachers for redeployment have been circulated by panel operators to schools with permanent vacancies arising in the 2025/26 school year. Schools must make their permanent appointments from these lists. The timeframe for this school-led redeployment process is Tuesday 27 May 2025.
The Department of Education has published a comprehensive FAQ on the redeployment process, including how appointments may be made, here.
INTO has also created some short informational animations about the panel, below. These videos explain what the Main Panels are, how and why teachers can defer panel rights, and the process of making appointments from the Panel.
The INTO encourages all schools with vacancies, and all teachers on Main Panels, to engage fully with the redeployment process. Teachers on Main Panels must complete a Panel Update Form and return it to the Primary Allocations Section of the Department of Education when they have secured a job (or if they are deferring their panel rights) to ensure that their name is removed from the Panel list in a timely manner.
Employers may not make appointments to fixed-term positions for the coming school year until the Main Panels have cleared, and permission has been given by the relevant panel operator. Fixed-term vacancies may be required for the temporary redeployment of permanent or CID-holders from the Main Panels.
Schools can access the FAQS on staffing from circular 0011/2025 here, and the FAQs on redeployment here.
