TRADE UNION AND COMMUNITY RALLY AGAINST RACISM

Stormont Front Steps, Thursday 8 August 11am
In light of the recent racist violence and intimidation, the NI Assembly is being recalled. We believe it’s crucial for trade unions to demonstrate leadership and rally for the values we affirmed last Friday:
“We stand with all victims of hate crime; we support our public servants who defend the vulnerable, and we have zero tolerance for divisive misinformation or attempts to spark violence.”
NIC-ICTU Statement on Far-Right Rhetoric and Racist Threats
NIC-ICTU have coordinated with the Stormont authorities to host a rally for trade unionists and all community members who share our commitment to equality, diversity, and solidarity. Our friends at NICVA are helping to ensure a large and representative turnout.
Event Highlights:
- Speeches from workers and trade union leaders advocating for our shared values.
- A call for affiliates to bring as many members as possible, along with trade union banners and flags.
Let’s stand together against racism. Your presence is vital.
