Permanent Teachers serving in a full-time permanent or temporary (1 year or more) capacity. Monthly subscription at the rate of 0.6% deducted directly from gross salary by the Department of Education.
Minimum payment £15.00 per month Maximum payment £22.50 per month

NB: A teacher working permanent part-time and doing some additional temporary work will only be paid once a month (on permanent teachers' pay date) and DE policy is to make only one INTO deduction in the payroll month from the permanent part-time job.

Supply Teachers serving in a supply (daily basis)/part-time capacity. Monthly subscription, based on the actual number of days worked per month, at the rate of 0.6%, deducted directly from gross salary by the Department of Education.
Maximum payment per month is £27.00 No payments July or August.

Active Retired Teachers in receipt of pension who continue to work (typically as a supply teacher). Working on a regular basis:
Monthly subscription, based on the actual number of days worked per month, at the rate of 0.6%, deducted directly from gross salary by the Department of Education.
Maximum payment per month is £27.00 No payments July or August.

Not working / working on an irregular basis:
£60 payable by cheque for 12 months membership, running from September - August. (Payable to Irish National Teachers’ Organisation).

Voluntary Grammar:

Part Time/Supply
Teachers serving in a supply (daily basis) capacity specifically in a voluntary grammar school. WEF SEPTEMBER 2024 - Direct debits taken on the 28th (or next banking day of each month): £10.00 x 12 JOIN ONLINE
Newly Qualified Teachers Newly qualified teachers who have graduated within the last 12 months. FREE membership until the end of the following August post-graduation then as above for Permanent / Supply as applicable. JOIN ONLINE
External Educational
Agencies
Teachers working in EA, CCEA, CCMS etc. Full/part-time membership paid as appropriate by agency directly to INTO. JOIN ONLINE
Career Break / Unpaid Leave For teachers on career break or unpaid leave to retain membership of the INTO and ensure entitlement to some of the services and benefits as ordinary members. There is no charge for the career break or unpaid leave membership. However, members should inform the INTO Northern Office that they are on a career break or unpaid leave to ensure their membership does not lapse Please contact Northern Office for further details: infoni@into.ie
Unpaid Maternity, Paternity and Sick Leave For teachers on unpaid maternity, paternity and sick leave to retain membership of the INTO and ensure entitlement to some of the services and benefits as ordinary members. There is no charge for the unpaid maternity, paternity and sick leave membership. Associate Persons who were qualified teachers and members of the Organisation but who cease to be practising teachers may become associate members. Such members shall be centrally registered on payment of an annual subscription to be determined by the CEC (£40 for 12 months) and shall be entitled to receive the Organisation's journals.
They shall have no other rights.

Honorary Teachers who have been members of a branch at the time of their retirement on pension may be nominated as honorary members after retirement with the right to attend and speak at meetings of the branch but they shall not have the right to vote or to act as officers or delegates of the branch. They shall receive the Organisation's journals.
They shall have no other rights.
The CEC shall determine what subscription shall be forwarded to central funds on their behalf.
Current rate £40 for 12 months payable by the Branch.
Branch to notify Northern Office of successful nominations
Student Open to anyone who is training to be a teacher. Student membership is completely FREE. JOIN ONLINE

IMPORTANT NOTE:

Members, if you have not paid any subscriptions to INTO for three consecutive months your INTO membership will lapse.

You will receive an email from INTO Northern Office notifying you of the lapsing, seeking to clarify your circumstances and, where appropriate, seeking to reactivate your INTO membership.

Failure to respond to the email will result in automatic termination of your INTO membership.
