Amnesty International: Free Ibrahim Halawa
20 year old Irishman, Ibrahim Halawa has now been in prison in Egypt for more than a thousand days.
Amnesty has reviewed the evidence and concluded he could not have committed the crimes with which he is charged and that he is a prisoner of conscience, jailed for peacefully exercising his right to freedom of expression and assembly. His continuing imprisonment is a violation international and Egyptian law.
The CEC considered this case at a recent meeting and decided to ask INTO members to sign a virtual copy of Amnesty’s postcard calling on Egyptian President al- Sisi to release Ibrahim.
