The 17th Sept. to 17th Oct. annually is the WORLD’s LARGEST LESSON and schools are asked to teach ONE LESSON about the 17 Global Goals (S.D.G’s) to all classes. Check in our “LESSONS” tab (top left) for a basic introductory lesson on the Global Goals or for a wider selection of lessons.

U.N. End Poverty Day of Action - 17th October

OCT. 17th  is the U.N. End Extreme Poverty Day and is the Irish primary schools Day of Action. This year the pupil action is to partake in the “Writing our Wishes for a Fairer World on Stone” event and display & SHARE the messages throughout whole school communities and on social media.

Suggested idea is to use smooth light coloured rounded stones and markers and then position all stones for viewing & discussion.

Sunday 17th March is Ireland’s National Day. We are hoping all schools will link the 17 Global Goals with their 17th March / St Patrick’s Day celebrations by hosting an in-school event such as picking one of the 17 Goals to highlight alongside St Patrick’s weekend or a community linked action, e.g a school 17 Global Goals float in the local parade.
