The Literacy Association of Ireland 41st Annual Conference

The Literacy Association of Ireland will hold its 41st Annual Conference in the Marino Institute of Education on the evening of Thursday 5th and all day Friday 6th October.The theme of this year's conference is 'Perspectives on Literacy: Bringing Voices Together'.

The conference will be officially opened by Aodhán Ó Ríordán, Labour Spokesperson on Education. The opening keynote address will be by PJ Lynch, Children’s Laureate, Illustrator and Author. Brendan Culligan, Lecturer and Author will also address delegates with a keynote entitled ‘More than 125 Years of Crushing Garlic!

The conference will include a number of events including poster presentations, a Teach Meet session and the LAI Book Awards and Outstanding Thesis Award ceremonies.

Delegates can choose from a number of concurrent sessions on primary, post-primary and general interest topics.

The DES allows leave of absence (without substitute cover) for teachers who wish to attend.
