INTO are very pleased to host an information webinar with the Health Insurance Authority. The Health Insurance Authority is the statutory regulator of the private health insurance market in Ireland. As set out in legislation, one of the principal functions of the HIA is to increase the public’s awareness of their rights and of what health insurance services are available to them.
Healthcare costs can constitute a significant portion of household budgets. With over 300 insurance plans on the market and so many variables to consider with each plan, the health insurance market is difficult to navigate. Research shows that people are reluctant to shop around for better health insurance because of the difficulty in comparing plans, the hassle of switching, and fear of losing benefits. This has led to more than a million people never switching provider, potentially missing out on better value insurance.
The HIA believe that informed consumers are empowered consumers and want to equip teachers with the knowledge necessary to make informed decisions regarding their health insurance. During the webinar we will provide tips and advice in relation to health insurance, which will be useful for those renewing their plan or for those who may be purchasing their first plan. We will also be happy to answer any questions you may have. This webinar will allow INTO members to confidently navigate the health insurance market.
INTO members and families are welcome to join this webinar, to register please click here.
