Temporary Teacher Reassignment Scheme

The Temporary Teacher Reassignment Scheme is intended to facilitate teachers who wish to apply for a temporary re-assignment to a different school for educational purposes, subject to the approval of their Board of Management. The minimum period of temporary re-assignment under this scheme is one school year and the maximum is three school years. Teachers will be responsible for identifying a teacher with whom they wish to exchange posts, and requests for temporary re-assignment are subject to annual application and the approval of both Boards of Management.
How to Apply
Teachers interested in a temporary re-assignment must submit an application to their employer (i.e. Board of Management/Manager/Education and Training Board) by 1 March for a re-assignment commencing the following school year.
